Anonimul Independent Film Festival

[adsense]One of the greatest events that  takes place each year in the Danube Delta is the Anonimul Independent Film Festival. For a whole week every August, the small village of Sfantu Gheorghe transforms from this quiet paradise in the middle of nature into the center of the world’s independent movie scene.

The festival has been gaining in popularity every year and more and more renowned directors come here to present their latest works. It is also a great place where less known movie producers can present their stuff and and compete for the prized Anonimul Trophy.

For me personally, the film festival is just a pretext for going to Sfantu Gheorghe and having a great time with friends. I think I’ve only missed two editions since it first began, in 2003.
